Teacher Stories: From Philippines with Love

I’ve read that the Philippines is both “The Land of Smiles” and “The Pearl of the Orient Seas.”  I believe both are true, and it shows in the eyes of the teachers.

Meet a few of the beautiful people doing good work…..and don’t forget to say “HI!”

Working with HiOffer has taught me different things essential to be an effective follower and leader. First, I learned to respect other people because I know how it feels to be challenged by prospects and candidates. Second, to manage my priorities and my time are key factors to be efficient in every task given to me and my team. Third, I learned more about patience and understanding most especially that I am dealing with people from different walks of life and career path. Also, I am cultured to become my own person; I must be in control of my choices and decisions. Lastly, being a leader, I have to be independent and reliable to earn the trust of the colleagues I am working with and the bosses I am working for.

Being with HiOffer has really changed my life for the better and I hope it has for everyone in Team Philippines too! 🙂

Kristian Lloyd LomedaKristian Lloyd Lomeda

Hi everyone! I am Kristian and I am from Nabua, Camarines Sur now staying happily in Davao City!  I studied Nursing at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges  and has been currently working as an ESL teacher for quite a few years now. I have taught different foreign students such as Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Spanish and Brazilians too! I started working in the call center field but later realized, teaching really is what I love to do the most. I like trying out new food especially korean food. I love what I do.

HiOffer brought me to a whole new side of ESL Market especially in the Philippines. It made me realize that there are more and greater opportunities that lies ahead of us than the normal or common companies we see on the internet. HiOffer brought unlimited opportunities not just to me but the entire Philippine ESL World. Getting you closer to Chinese employers as close than you can ever imagine.

When I became a Resource Advisor for Hioffer Philippines under the management of Ms. Maravilla, I realized that there should be a deep understanding of what the candidate has to offer in terms of educational attainment, previous work experience, and teaching certificates like CELTA, TEFL and TESOL.  It should be congruent to the requirements of the ESL companies that need the teachers just like a symbiotic relationship among living organisms.

I transformed myself to be a good listener and, more importantly,  listening and reacting appropriately to the findings. I learned that there should be significant self-confidence to impart my knowledge to my target audience and invest time to interview them to explain how Hioffer’s process was designed to supply the increasing demands of ESL jobs in China.

Also I realized that aside from the native English speakers in countries like the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and the United States of America; there are plenty of good teachers in Europe and Russia.

The motivation I needed to bring good teachers to the company was because of the things I learned from my applicants.

There is nothing more fulfilling than to talk to the most formidable native speakers located in North America as well as countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea. Ideas are freely exchanged among applicants regardless of the cultural barriers and the distance of communication through the advent of technology. Fortunately, some of them became my friends.

My gratitude to HiOffer is enormous as well as to my fellow Resource Advisors, our Team Leader, and our Manager. It is not just giving the aspiring teachers the jobs they wish. It is so much more than that. I know I helped them in the best way possible in every opportunity I have been bestowed.

I am on my fourth year of being an E-ducator and I enjoy every part of it. I teach, I earn and most importantly I continuously learn.

This job enables me to balance my work and personal life even more.

Being a part of Hioffer motivates me to become a better version of myself as I pursue this career as a certified teacher soon.

Moreover, this became a source of extra income. It also taught me time management and negotiation skills. Finally, it taught me that rewards can come in any way and one should do the work with full patience and determination.

Hioffer is indeed a generous company. Unlike other companies they also think of their employees; it’s not just business. They are packed of responsible and concerned people to answer all the inquiries we do not know or can’t answer.

Whenever we received negative comments there is a team that will comfort you and help you to address their comments properly in order to dig deep to what they are really concerned about. At the end of the day, you will learn that being calm to whatever bad things are  thrown at you will not create a war but a peaceful and productive day for the both sides.

We help teachers and aspiring teachers to earn at home or teach in China. It is really nice to hear from those whom you helped telling you that they got offers. It somehow brightens up your day. I myself have a lot to thank Hioffer for the opportunities they have given to me and I want to spread that opportunity to help others as well.

Hi! I’m John David. I’m a father of two and a husband to a beautiful wife. I am still studying BSAIS. I am a Resource Advisor at HiOffer.  My hobbies are going to the gym and helping out others by sharing what I know. I am a business-minded person, and I love to explore…always.

Hioffer boosted my self-esteem, improved my communication skills and helped me gain friends with different experiences and cultures. I am able to touch other people’s lives by helping them find jobs.

My name is Edith and I am an online teacher from the Philippines. I have been in this field for almost 13 years. I love teaching because it gives me the ultimate pleasure when I see my students improve their skills and learn from our lessons.

It may be very challenging sometimes; however with the right motive–which is to help the student–it makes everything easy and fun.

I hope to have the chance to teach students from different parts of the world. To me learning their culture is a good and different experience.  When I get the chance to do it, it will be like experiencing something new everyday. So it’s really fun!

Hioffer has changed my life in the most exciting way. I have done things I never thought I would do. Some of them were challenging but made me a better and stronger person.
